Scarlet Letter Information
Reading The Scarlet Letter is an exercise in examining the writer's craft. A close reading of the text is a good way to begin literary analysis, because every page contains plenty material to write about.
If you find reading Hawthorne's heavy diction a challenge and would like a little help, the following link gives you the entire book in its original text side-by-side with a modern (easy to understand) version. Just do not ignore the original text--you will miss the "art" of his language if you do.
